DETAILS
SuperGlaze® 4043 Aluminum Silicon alloy is very commonly used to weld on 6XXX base materials and other heat treatable alloys. SuperGlaze® 4043 is a soft alloy, with good crack resistance and high penetration compared to other filler metals. It can be used for certain brazing applications and to weld on high silicon casts like A356. Welding of 5XXX base materials with 4043 and other 4XXX filler metals should be avoided.
Features
- Designed for welding heat-treatable base alloys and more specifically the 6XXX series alloys
- Lower melting point and more fluidity than the 5XXX series filler alloys
- Low sensitivity to weld cracking with the 6XXX series base alloys
Typical Applications
- For welding 6XXX alloys and most casting alloys
- General fabrication
- Automotive components
- Bicycle frames
Welding Positions
- All except vertical down
Shielding Gas
- 100% Argon Argon / Helium Mixtures Flow Rate: 30 - 50 CFH
Special Features
- Q2 Lot® Certificate - Certified Material Test Report showing actual wire composition
